When it Comes to Leadership, Are You Just “Winging It?”

“Improvising?”

Practicing “hope and pray” leadership?

Don’t have enough time to spend deepening your team’s relationships and effectiveness?

Developing, and empowering your team is often an afterthought?

Or do you have a clear-cut plan to grow your team? Do you know how and when to delegate?

And how to be an effective leader that gets the job done?

If you are “winging it,” don’t feel bad…you’re not alone. For a part of my career, that’s what I did, too.

And for a while, it worked.

In the early days, when my team was smaller and simpler, and when the margins of error were bigger, “winging it” sometimes got the job done. But as my role expanded and my team too, “winging it” just didn’t cut it anymore.

And when I say couldn’t cut it, I mean that I didn’t have the time to lead my team in the way that I wanted.

They felt stifled and under pressure, reacting to problems.

I did too. In fact, it was my influence that made them feel that way.

With everything going on, I just didn’t know how to lead my team to get the best out of them. And when I say the best out of them, I mean:

  • Improving their commitment
  • Spending time to work with them and to allow them to grow
  • Empowering them to make decisions and develop
  • Inspiring them to be more innovative and proactive in their approach
  • Delegating tasks to improve the team’s capabilities
  • And having a generally well run and engaged team that gets results

I was missing most of these things.

And what I needed was a set of proven techniques and a system to help me know how to lead, and when to do it correctly.

I Started to Document What Worked And What Didn’t

Now, I have always been passionate about learning and trying new things.

And whilst I was studying for my business degree, and at the same time, learning how to lead effectively in my day job through trial and error, I decided to document what worked and what didn’t.

Soon enough, from my studies and what I actually learned in practice, I had a library of notes based on:

  • The theory
  • The practical application

After sitting on all this information, for a while, I decided to take my notes, documents and templates…

And turn it all into a system.

A system where I could repeat the successes again and again.

A system where I could follow and make it a “simple way that I lead.”

And so, I created the first draft of the flexible leader system, which was a way for me to follow to know exactly how I should lead my team; what I should do and actions I need to take to ensure I lead effectively every day.

And I Kept Tweaking and Taking Notes, Mostly When I Failed Miserably at Something…

Ok, maybe “failed miserably” is being a bit harsh…but it wasn’t great. And over time of tweaking and adjusting, I created a flexible leader system which can literally be taken off the shelf and used in nearly any situation…

For any manager…

In any team and industry.

The Result: SUCCESS!

I now had something that most managers only dream of having…

  • I had systems…
  • I had checklists…
  • I had reports…
  • I had “cheat sheets”…
  • I had standard operating procedures…

In short, I had “McDonald-ized” the very aspect of leading my team, knowing when to delegate and when to direct; when to change my leadership style and how; and the ingredients to engage and drive real team growth every day.

Then I Did Something Most Managers Only Dream Of Doing…

I created this Flexible Leader System for other leaders to use in their roles, so they could be more effective, too.

So they can follow every day to get the best out of their teams and to jump them forward to the next level in their careers.

And in this Flexible Leader System, I’ll show you:

  • The 6-step system to engage, empower and develop each team member with ease and develop your team’s effectiveness.
  • How to diagnose any situation and to lead in the most effective way for that particular situation.
  • How to know when to delegate and when to direct, so you can build deeper relationships whilst developing each team member’s capabilities, too.
  • How to change your leadership style with ease and gain respect and impact.
  • How to take your leadership career to the next level and successfully use this system for your next team.

In fact, you’ll know how to lead effectively and what to do every day to get the right balance between delegation, empowerment, tasks, and relationships.

And you’ll be able to do it straight away, just by following this 6-step system.

You Could Follow My Path…

Now, there’s no reason why you can’t do what i did… And that is to learn by your mistakes.

The flip side to this is that it can take a lot of time and for most managers today, time is a commodity that can’t be wasted.

And whilst you are working things out, you could make a number of costly mistakes too, like:

  • Low team productivity levels due to employees feeling out of touch and not valued
  • Little respect because you just aren’t spending quality time with each team member
  • Too many things to do and not enough time in your day, because your team are just not taking additional tasks off you
  • Distracted by silly questions that your team members should know the answers to
  • Costly errors and poor engagement because people are not feeling valued

Alternatively, You Can Cut Corners, And Be An Effective Leader, Quickly, And Without The Mistakes

Invest in this Flexible Leader system, and you can bypass these common and costly mistakes.

This off-the-shelf system will allow you to get started the same day and start to implement better communication, empowerment, development, engagement and employee commitment, just by following the E-Workbook.

The 5-Step Coaching Cheat Sheet

It might be a simple cheat sheet, but it’s a powerful tool to use to help lead you through coaching each team member to success.

As you know, successful leadership comes from coaching and allowing people to learn. Telling and directing won’t work in the long term, so it makes sense to coach and develop your team effectively.

But coaching is often overlooked, and the opportunity to develop people through learning and reflection is often lost.

That’s why I’ll send you the coaching cheat sheet.

It’s the exact system I use to coach my clients when I need them to internalise their learning and improve, as they implement new concepts in their jobs.

With this cheat sheet, you’ll learn the 5 questions I ask to take a learner through not understanding something, to knowing exactly what to do better next time in their own words.

With this template, you’ll be a master coach in no time!

You’ll also get the Coaching Template to use, so you can get coaching straight away.

“Dear Lee

As a training fraternity, its expected of us to have a holistic view of learning, leadership and Organisation Development theories, concepts, models and best practices but most important we need to have that X factor (humility, compassionate and devotion towards bringing the best in others)

During all these years of my journey very rarely I encounter people ( leave aside Toyota gurus) who make a positive impact on the lives of others . You give this profession a good name, and I consider myself very fortunate to be a part of your  network.

I treasure all the knowledge and wisdom you have and and appreciate the time, effort and sincerity you have devoted in it.”
